This light sculpture is a hypothetical visualization of an “Anywhere Door”. Portal portrays the emotions and footprints from the places I’ve lived in the United States, manifests the trying connection with home, the constant search for home, and the journey of heading home. The images were created through the reaction and introspection acted upon losing family, failing friendships, undergoing immigration, pandemic, and unemployment. The colors are composed in echo with the deeply rooted culture and personality, whereas the shapes and movements are in response to the foreign societal impact and interpersonal pressure.
